Explore this mineral quarry on a self-guided adventure.
Raylan’s Flow is on crown land, however mineral collecting rights are granted by Raylan’s Creek Prospecting Co. 1894 owner Gerry Geddes (Mining Claim #554474).
Hobby Mineral Collecting for personal pleasure, recreation, or interest is welcome by Gerry provided visitors adhere to the Ontario mineral collecting guidelines:
+ Samples are collected for the collector’s personal collection, and the collector has no intention to sell the minerals collected.
+ Explorers are invited to 1 collecting visit per year.
+ Take only what you can easily carry in one trip.
+ Log your visit at Crystal Cave. COOL TIDBIT: When you spend time collecting here, your hours logged will form part of the official mining claim record.
+ Leave no trace. Help keep the site in as good or better condition than when you arrived.
Getting there: Take Chemical Rd towards Algonquin Park and go 9.5 km north on Forestry (Project Dare) Rd., then 300 m east. Originally mined by Comet Quartz Co. in 1982-1983.
